Sculpture/small vase by Bernard Rooke

Extremely rare vase in sculptural style, very unusual and sought after. The design reminds me of a hermit crab emerging from its shell!

Gorgeous deep browns and olive glazes enhance and accentuate the organic lines.

The mark shown was used on early pieces but usually wouldn’t include the additional ‘Made in England’, I’ve not seen another in this style or with this stamp.

Originally purchased directly from Bernard himself at his pottery many years ago by the previous owner.

6″ (15cm) long, 5″ (13cm) wide and 3″ (8cm) tall.
